With the help of Dorian Jr. and his friend Lynn the frame went up. They were a great help working in the tree house while Dorian cut the wood.
The siding and roof went up not long after. The weather was beautiful and it sure helped with all the shade the big black walnut tree provided.
The pictures a little dark, because it was dark out! But the shingles are on! We still have left some railing around the front and a small railing around the back. Not sure yet what we are going to do for doors, because they are not a regular size. But Wynnie loves it and is planning a house warming party soon for her friends.
Dorian smoothing out the yard before planting grass seed.
Wynnie's tree house base.
A sparkle of green grass. We also picked up some tiki torches to help chase away any bugs when we enjoy the deck.
Grass around Wynnie's tree house. We hope to this fall put up a house that will match the house for her. Summer is going to be so hot we wanted to wait so we don't kill ourselves building it and that Wynnie would be able to enjoy it vs. sweating to death in it!
On the top left green beans, top right pepper, and bottom cucumbers. My first attempt at my own garden. Not a lot to talk about this year but hopefully next year the soil will be built up a little better. With the ton of rain we have had lately and a day in the 90's we sprouted!
We cleared out the bathroom, I wish we had a picture of what it looked like to begin with. There were extra large cabinets inside the same as the kitchen. There was only 8 inches between the toilet and the vanity.
Dorian layed the tile in the bathroom.
We got a cute new small vanity for the bathroom to save on space. There is a lot more room now.
The finished bathroom. I still need to pick up some new towels that match better.
The other side of the room.
We took 3 layers of flooring up as we cleared out the kitchen
We put in a wall to seperate the laundry area from the kitchen. We are still looking for the perfect folding doors to concele them.
We put down laminate flooring and will be putting tile under the washer and dryer.
we turned the cabinet inserts around to get rid of the contact papered cabinets.
Here is the new house. We are already to dive in and get to work. The outside will be painted simmilar to what it is now in KC Beige. I believe we have forest green shutters and will do the trim a dark green. We will be putting a new porch on as well. The yard will be leveled in the back yard and seeded, but we will waite on the front yard until they are done with the construction on the street.
This blog is to keep in touch with all our friends and family in the northland. Hope this is another way to help keep in touch!
